SPCA CAke sale

Thank you so much to all the parents who baked and donated cakes and treats for the SPCA Cake Sale which was held in the hall today during both breaks. Our committee members manned the tables and were real pro sales ladies! A sincere and heartfelt thanks to all who helped. Even the grade 4s cleaned up the hall afterwards and did so gladly.

ALPHA LEO VISIT THE HOSPITAL

The Riebeek Alpha Leo club members visited the Uitenhage Provincial Hospital to visit a few patients. The girls handed out get well parcels to them and each patient was very thankful and were definitely left in high spirits. We would like to thank Mrs Myburg for organising the visit and for taking the girls.

Drama production

The Drama Club proudly presents "Not another James Bond Movie":
Date: 28th July * Venue: Sholto McIntyre Hall * Price: R30 * Time: 18h30* Directed by Ondela Nkumanda & Ambesa Daniels * Written by The Riebeek College Drama Club* "Not Another James Bond Movie" is a parody, farce of an actual James Bond movie such as Skyfall or Spectre. A local production house is shooting a South African version of a James Bond film. The foreshadowing of a hilarious chain of events occurs during auditions, where the role of James Bond is supposed to go to Johan Smith, an actor with an impressive resume, but it is given to John Smit, an amateur actor. “James Bond's” girlfriend and best friend pull a prank on him by staging a kidnapping. Our misfit hero takes the prank seriously, resulting in comedic consequences and a war.

media workshop

23 June

Marion Marais of Strategy Advertising and an Old Girl from the Class of 2003 visited Riebeek today and presented a talk and question and answer session with the Media Club. Thank you to Angelique Tee for the organisation of the workshop, the boarders who supported en masse, Desire Ferguson who got the Mac projecting on the screen and to Marion who had the girls enthralled by her tips and wealth of knowledge. One of the most useful tips was to start your career now eg blog about your interest to build up a profile of your passion, have an Instagram account to showcase your interest etc. The girls are so eager for Marion to return and she had a wealth of questions asked of her from the girls. She also suggested to get the most exposure on your facebook post, post on a Wednesday morning or late afternoon or on a Friday afternoon. A big thank you to Marion! Also, well done to the girls who attended on excellent behaviour and making us proud.
