Welcome
Dear Parents
A very warm welcome to the Riebeek College Family!
We would like to congratulate our Matrics of 2016 on their 100% pass. We are very proud of them!
As our budget meeting was held on 17 November 2016, you may not be aware of the new 2017 fee structure which was approved and accepted at this special meeting. At the meeting the following resolutions were adopted:
- Riebeek College is a fee-paying school and fees for 2017 will be R13 500 which may be paid as follows:
- R13 500 as full payment at the beginning of the year
- R1 350 per month from January to October (10 months)
- R3 375 per term (at the beginning of each quarter)
- In terms of Section 39 of the SA Schools Act, parents are liable to pay these fees.
- In terms of Section 40 of the SA Schools Act, the school may enforce this payment by taking legal action.
- In terms of the amendments of the SA Schools Act passed on 31/10/2006, parents may apply for full or partial exemption by completing the required forms which can be obtained from the school office and by providing all the supporting documentation. (Ask the office for assistance if you deem it necessary).
Hostel fees for 2017 are: R31 000 per annum / R7 750 per term
Aftercare fees for 2017 are: R5 720 per annum / R1 430 per term
In order to facilitate good communication, please make sure that we have your updated contact details. Please download the D6 School Communicator as we consider it a very effective form of communication. We shall be sending out “profile” forms soon, in order to update our records.
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Miss S du Preez to the Riebeek family. She will be teaching LS in the high school, replacing Mrs Gunter who left us to return to the United States of America.
I look forward to your support as parents and the primary disciplinarians and educators of your daughters. This year, all of us at Riebeek College will continue to walk in integrity, practising the fruit of the spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control) on a daily basis.
In assembly on Wednesday the girls were encouraged to use each day as productively as possible. Time is a precious gift. I hope that your daughters will inform you about our new theme for the year, which is “Respect Rules @ Riebeek”.
May 2017 be a wonderful year of much joy, good health and rewarding success for all of us at Riebeek College.
Yours sincerely
CHERYL SNYMAN
DEPUTY PRINCIPAL (ACTING PRINCIPAL)
