Phly Thread Workshop - Grade 4

BY Siviwe Tole

On 21 October 2015, Phly Thread had a Grade 4 anti-bullying workshop in the Student Centre. There was a total of 49 enthusiastic young ladies attending the workshop. This event was thoroughly enjoyed by all and the young ladies truly learnt a lot. Given the opportunity to interact with the committee members, the Grade 4s expressed themselves and asked questions for a better understanding after they were informed about the importance of friendship and its values. The day was filled with fun activities such as being entertained by our very own Phly Thread members with a skit, singing songs, watching videos and playing games. When it was time to get a bit serious on the matter of bullying, the Grade 4s split up into groups to have one-on-one time with the group leaders. The groups rotated to the different leaders, learning something new with each rotation. We didn’t think it was possible but fun games and sweets brought about an even bigger smile to the young one’s faces. Embracing our theme of the year “walking in integrity”, a handmade poster “We Are Against Bullying” was made. We would like to thank Miss Pot and all of the Phly Thread members for their effort as it was a fruitful day.
