RIEBEEK College Girls’ High School is proud of its 91 young ladies who all passed the National Senior Certificate examination.
One error from the Department of Education in a mark not being computed on the system is receiving attention after which Riebeek will reflect a 100% pass rate.
“The results indicate a learner’s Business Studies mark is missing, but this learner did not take Business Studies as a subject. Her Life Sciences mark was not entered,” said Kieran Stear, principal at Riebeek College.
“The Department is aware of the problem and is attempting to resolve this as soon as possible. We anticipate that the learner will pass Life Sciences with flying colours which will give Riebeek College a 100% pass rate.”
Riebeek attained 139 subject distinctions with 15 distinctions in Mathematical Literacy, 19 in History, 6 in isiXhosa (home language) and 12 in Afrikaans (1st additional language).
“We are passionate about ensuring our girls learn what they need to make a difference in the world. The NSC examinations are the culmination of many skills that the girls acquire through the years at Riebeek. The world awaits in darkness and needs you, the Class of 2018, to be the light. We have taught you what you need, it is now time to go and live the lessons we have gifted you with and be the light,” said Stear. - REPORTER
