Sasol Forever Enviro Quiz Final Round

BY Miss C Panayiotou

This is the first year that Riebeek College had the opportunity and privilege of taking part in the Sasol Forever Enviro Quiz Competition.

With 882 total entries in round one, mainly from the Free State, and 60 entrants being from the Eastern Cape, Our Riebeek Girls made it through to the third and final round of the competition. They competed against 13 other schools this weekend at the Forever Resort, Gariep Dam.

The girls worked hard this weekend and did a fantastic job with their oral presentation, song presentation , practical activity and final quiz regarding the topic "Biodiversity Under Threat"

The girls took this topic seriously and through out their preparations for the final round they were actively involved in helping our community and school. They organised a litter clean up at Willow Dam and litter clean ups at school. They now would like to become more actively involved in our school's recycling project and going green team. Their two class outings to The Addo Wildlife Sanctuary and to Elands Nursery were also beneficial towards their project and quiz.

We are extremely proud of our girls as they won 5th place overall and 2nd in the Eastern Cape. This is a wonderful achievement.

A book for each team member

A certificate each

A medal each

Money for each team member

Garden voucher for the school

Well done girls, you are all winners and we are all so proud of you.
