Kruger Park Tour - What an Experience!

BY Angelique Tee

What an amazing journey the girls had. From Day 1 the girls made unforgettable memories and exciting new friends from Brandwag, Daniel Pienaar and St. Andrews. The girl woke up at 4 o’clock in the morning to get settled in the bus and set off for Bloemfontein. That night the girls went shopping at the mall and watched movies with their new friends.

Day 2 the bus departed early for Loskopdam, where they enjoyed the peaceful boat ride and relaxed in the heated pool.

Day 3 they went on an exciting tour in the Sudwala caves where they learnt how long it takes for certain rocks to emerge and how the cave and various rocks were formed.

Day 4 the girls attempted to spot the Big Five at the Kruger National Park. We saw many animals such as the Hyenas, Lions, Wilder bees, Giraffe, Hippos and elephants. That night they went on an adventurous night game drive where they spotted animals such as rhinos and hippos up close, it was an amazing sight.

Day 5 they visited the rehabilitation centre where many got the opportunity to feed and hold vultures. We also saw lions and wild dogs and the Marshall Eagle. The rest of the day was spent sightseeing and some breath taking places such as God’s Window, Berlin Waterfalls, Pinnacle rock tower and the Potholes.

Day 6 they departed early so that they could spend most of their day at Gold Reef City, where many rode the Runaway train, Miners Revenge and the fearful but unforgettable Anaconda. That night they spent their time playing at the Menlyn Park shopping centre.

Day 7 was spent at Sun City where many selfies and memories were made at the Valley of the Waves. That night they spent their last moments ice skating.

Even though many were sick, Mr Terblanche and Mrs Myburg went out of their way to make it enjoyable and provided care for those who were sick. This trip was truly unforgettable. It was heart breaking to say goodbye, but memories will always be cherished, and how could any of us forget about this heart-warming experience.
